HISTORY

 BERMUDA SEA CADETS

The Corps consist of three Training Ship (TS) Corps. The first Unit, T.S. Bermuda was established in Hamilton in 1966. T.S. Venture was established on Ireland Island in 1969 and T.S. Admiral Somers was founded in 
St. George's in 1973.  The Bermuda Sea Cadet Association supports 
these Units financially in part. 

Each Unit is required to have a Unit Management Committee and it is the committee’s responsibility to raise funds for general expenses i.e. rent and utilities. Unit Committees consist of Parents, Guardians and Friends. 

OBJECTIVES

The primary objective of the Sea Cadet organization in Bermuda is to help boys and girls between the ages 9 1/2 and 18, acquire a mature sense of responsibility and self discipline. Encouraging also the qualities that lead to self reliance and providing them with training which will facilitate, if they desire, their entry into local nautical services. The most common example are boat design and building, communications, ferry operations, charter and tour boat operations, the fishing industry , fishery protection services and Police marine services. 
 

Command Structure

The Commander of the Bermuda Sea Cadets Corps and the Bermuda Sea Cadet Council regulates the Corps.
